Ports 4.0 – IDEA Programme Grant
Whale Dock was selected in the 2023 Ports 4.0 IDEA Programme. This grant enabled us to start developing the project from an idea TRL1 to a TRL3, building and testing a reduced scale prototype that we used on Nautic shows and conferences.
Development of WD70 – Version 1
In January 2025, we completed the construction of our first prototype featuring an automated control system and a lifting capacity of 70 kg. This represented a major step forward compared to earlier manual prototypes, which lacked selective tank control.
Winners of the “Spanish Naval Entrepreneur 2025” Award
On October 28th, 2025, SOPIN (from Spanish Naval Engineers College) awarded Whale Dock the Start-up of the Year prize, recognising the innovative potential of our solution within the maritime sector.
Development of WD70 – Version 2
In mid-2025, we built the second version of the prototype, incorporating new valves, upgraded pumps, and a more robust control system. These improvements significantly enhanced operating times and self-stabilisation capabilities.
Barcelona International Boat Show 2025
In October 2025, Whale Dock participated in the Barcelona International Boat Show with a stand in the Àgora-Port area. Live prototype demonstrations were carried out throughout the week, and we delivered the closing presentation of the technical conference programme.
